For a Snowy Saturday

Crazy Cali's over there-------> What a whacko!!!

So the laundry is done and the house is clean....all my updates are done and ready to hit the road on Monday for work (IF the snow lets up)....geee what shall I do today?

We're having an awesomely wonderful snow storm.....not sure if the county will shut down or not. Jeff kept his haircut appointment...I kinda wondered about the common sense element in that decision...but he's home safe. Now I need to check on Nate and Sara ....it's the mom thing...you know? Ugh....I got Sara's voice mail and an abrupt "I'll call ya back, mom" from Nate. Okay....on to something else. Lunch? Yeah, let's eat!!

Well, it's a big lunch but it makes sense to me to eat a big lunch and a smaller supper right? So as I'm eating I glance out the window and the snow is just pummeling us! I ran outside to take another picture hoping that the effect will be for you as exciting it is for me! Sometimes the snowflakes just don't show...you know?

As I came back in Cali ran from my plate with a piece of lettuce in her mouth! GACK!!! Dog germs! So we have fish with some tartar sauce/green beans and a great doggie slobber salad! Have you ever put nuts or dried fruit on a salad? It makes it so yummy....even with the canine slobber. Dried cranberries are the cheapest (I think) and they aren't bitter at all!

Okay Nate's here and Sara called. Luke is on his way....oh crap..there goes Jeff's cell phone. Well it appears that Luke is behind someone who is stuck and he can't get up our hill. Sheesh.....people shouldn't be out there! But you can't tell an 18 year old anything can ya? Luke finally made it home and Sara is pretty much stuck at her place. She's supposed to go to work but I really don't think she'll be able to.

Well a little while ago my dear scrumptious gal pal Dixie gave me an award! Yeah...ME!!! WOOOO!!! Isn't it cool? She thinks I rock! Well......I think she rocks too! You can visit her right here! She's always got some interesting things to say!

Thanks Dixie!!!

And now.....the IPOD SHUFFLE!!!

Well this came from Dana who got it from Trav who got it from.......you know. This goes on and on and on.......

The rules:

1. Put your music player on Shuffle

2. For each question, press the "next" button to get your answer.

3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER WHAT. (This is in capital letters, so it is very serious.) No matter what? YIKES!!!! Now I'm skeered...really skeered!

1. IF SOMEONE SAYS “IS THIS OKAY?” YOU SAY...
"The First Cut is the Deepest"! Taylor Hick's Hollywood week song! Woohoo!!

2. WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?
"Not Fade Away"....I see a theme here...Taylor Hicks! Yeah I just kinda hang around....whether you want me or not?

3. WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?
"Bent" byMatchbox Twenty "When my smile is old and faded-won't you wait? I'll smile again" Look at my smile...let it warm you! I like smiles in/on everybody!

4. HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?
"One Word" by Elliott Yamin....okay....but what's the word? I'm not telling! You guess!

5. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?
"Black and White People" by Matchbox Twenty-well I don't get that one.

6. WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
Another Taylor song, "You Send Me" Now really I have much more then Taylor AI songs! Truly I do....and I have not idea how to tie that into being a motto!

7. WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?
**waits in anticipation** Oooh good song....but what does it mean? Cat Stevens "I've Got a Thing About Seeing My Grandson Grow Old" Do my friends think I have drive/conviction/tenacity? Hope so!

8. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR PARENTS?
"Treat Her Right" by The Commitments--Well I do my best to treat my mom right. She drives me nuts at times but we usually find the giggle in there somewhere!

9. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?
"November Rains" by Harry Chapin **listens to the lyrics for a while** Hmmmm this appears to be somewhat depressing....i'm not one to dwell on depression so we'll just move along...okay?

10. WHAT IS 2+2?
Another Chapin epic masterpiece, "What Made America Famous". A 7 minute song about reality, absurdities and our country messed up by officials. Go figure.

11. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?
Taylor....again...."Takin' It to the Streets". Now c'mon...this meme isn't working too well for me. **sigh**

12. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
No surprise here guys...."Do I Make You Proud" this time.....geez...I'm trying NOT to be such an approval seeker.....gimme a break!!!

13. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
This song is done by a local performer that goes by the name of Ren...he's pretty good just a soft voice with his expertise and his guitar. The song..."The Candle Maker's Daughter" An outgoing daughter living out her mother's dreams. Hmm...

14. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
"Sleep" by 2 Skinny Dorks another pride and joy of the area....they go by Skinny now....what's this to do with what I want to be when I grow up? Have no clue.

15. WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"Free Bird" Ahhh by Bo Bice! YAY!!! Well the question I have now is "who do I like?" Hmmmmm...

16. WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
"I Wanna Learn a Love Song" Well this is another epic masterpiece from the incomparable Harry Chapin. About a fella giving and a married woman taking and a husband not caring.

17. WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
Robert Downey Jr. did a wonderful song called "Chances Are" on one of the Ally McBeal soundtracks. A very pretty ballad duet with Vonda Shephard. "....chances are I'll see you somewhere in my dreams tonight....baby you're the best I've ever met." Yeah...that's a sweet song. **sigh**

18. WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
Oh my! "Chain of Fools' by The Commitments! ARGH!!! Really?

19. WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?
"Wherever I Lay My Hat" by Taylor Hicks. Well I did just lay my hat on the table after I came in from shoveling MORE snow! I'm not sure about shoveling snow for a hobby though. Actually I've had quite enough of this stuff!

20. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET?
Matchbox Twenty "You Won't Be Mine" A deep dark ballad....very dark. How is this a secret? I'm not telling. *smirk* "....you'll be rich and strong and you'll carry on-oh but you won't be mine."

21. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?
Jimi Hendrix "Red House" Once again great song....but no tie in to my friends.

22. WHAT SHOULD YOU POST THIS AS?
"Hold On" by Sarah McLachlan. Okay.....?

This was a very cool meme....I'm glad I did it....just wish some of the songs were relative to the questions. Bwahahahaha....the next song in rotation is "I Can't Stand the Rain" by The Commitments....and the questions is....ummm SNOW or RAIN? But that still doesn't mean...bring it on Mother Nature!!!

I'm wondering if church will be cancelled....this is just crazy!
**looks outside again**

Now just a few hours later the snow is halfway up my tires. The dogs can't squat to do their business without freezing their little butts and the mail is over an hour late. I shoveled as good as I could for him. Places are closing early or not opening at all.

Well I think it's about time to wrap this up before you lose interest...
...or did I lose you already?

Hugs, Happiness and Harmony!
Julie

We got SUNSHINE instead of snow!
    (yay!)
Oh, I love pine nuts on my salad - my friend Bessie likes Craisins (I prefer dried cherries, but if you're not in Michigan, they can be hard to find).
Your lunch looked good - no wonder Cali couldn't resist! And is there anything more fun than watching a dog play in the snow (especially when you're INSIDE watching through the window!) ~ have a great weekend,
    mo

    The snow looks great!

Funny how sometimes the songs will come up for the questions and sometimes they won't. It's a fun meme though and at least you get to listen to some tunes!

I like your choice of meal. Very healthy. It's puppy approved!
Glad y'all are okay after that snowstorm. Just sit tight and enjoy the comforts of home. Hugs! :)

Wow, that's a lot of snow. Poor dogs can't even squat to do their business. I had a visual on that. It wasn't pretty. I'm jealous...you have all the lundry done and the house is clean. Sigh... Congratulations on the award too. Have a great day. :)
