Sara Sees Brussels!
Last weekend she saw Munich and this most recent weekend she saw Brussels. What a gorgeous place...full of architectural splendor! First a brief description and then....PICTURES taken by photo extraordinairre..... SARA!! Thank goodness for photobucket and email!!!
Brussels is the capital of Belgium and the administrative centre of the European Union. This has earned the city the title of the Capital of Europe. Brussels has been given its character by the coexistence of French and Flemish culture, and it is nowadays home to nationalities around the world, adding a cosmopolitan flavour to its atmosphere. The vibrant atmosphere of Brussels is further enhanced by picturesque medieval streets, lively squares, beautiful boulevards, impressive monuments, spacious parks, cosy cafés, interesting restaurants and an active cultural life.
Flying over the Alps!
This is a place called the Atomium. Isn't it fascinating? It was built in 1958 for the Brussell's World Fair. It was originally only expected to last a few months but in 2004 renovation started. The old pieces of aluminum were sold as souvenirs to help finance the reconstruction of the new facility. Check it out here . It's really interesting reading! There's even a restaurant in there!
This picture and the next couple show gorgeous architecture and gardens.

Here's my Silly Sara...she called it being "Europeanized".I call it "looking like she should have been tossed back into the 80's"!
Double click to check out the make-up. YIKES!
When in Brussels you must eat mussels!
So the fella in the middle is Emelian. He's from Brussels and was an exchange student when Sara was in high school. On the right is Liza. She is a friend of Sara's from high school studying in Paris. So Sara goes from Florence, Italy and Liza travels from Paris, France to visit Emelian?Hugs, Happiness and Harmony!

I hope it's not a once in a lifetime experience, but if is turns out to be that, well, then she "did it up right."
I've never been out of the US and when I talk to people who have a chance to travel and are sounding wishy washy I always encourage them to go.
Life's too short not to, if a person wants to travel.

Travis! Yes you will! I'm getting more excited each day!
Lisa! Yes! I'm leaving to see my baby girl on Nov 1st!
Vinny! It won't be long now, will it?
Meri! I know! They just look disgusting don't they?
Dana! So true! I would be very sad if she and I had NO contact. This way is at least bearable.
JAM! You are SO right! If given the chance..broaden your horizons! That's a no brainer in my book!
