Thursday 13 ITALY!!!

Won't be long now!


I think most all of my readers know that I'm going to Italy next week. Look over at my countdown clock..it's pretty close. Ooooh! I just counted! Seven more sleeps y'all! Next Thursday is when I leave. Woohoo!!

So my Thursday Thirteen is this: Thirteen reasons why I'm going to Italy!!!

1. TO SEE SARA!!!












2. Rome and all the splendor that come with it. We'll be landing in the Eternal City in the morning after an all night flight. Plans are to see the Sistine Chapel that houses Michelangelo's masterpiece The Creation. As we enter ancient Rome we will see the Colosseum. Before we leave Rome we will toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain.
3. TO SEE SARA!!!











4. Florence and the best tour guide ever! Umm yeah...SARA!! Plans for here are as follows: Beautiful lush green hills of Tuscany. The final resting place of Michelangelo. We'll be checking out the shops and admiring the architecture. Hmmmm I see mention of restaurants set in the Chianti hills! Sound like wine to me! ...or perhaps Anthony Hopkins! YIKES!!

5. TO SEE SARA!!!











6. Venice will offer us a canal cruise by private motor launch....a gondola would be very expensive and besides...romance with my mom? Nah...... We'll see the Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark's Basilica. We'll visit a glass blowing factory.

7. TO SEE SARA!!!














8. Siena is the best preserved walled city in the Tuscany region....I think no vehicles are permitted here. It's a most beatiful city.

9. TO SEE SARA!!!

10. Because I LOVE to fly and haven't in over 12 years! Okay so this is when I went to the Boeing website and tried to get some pictures. We'll be on a 737, a 333 and a E75 as we hop from Pittsburg to Philadelphia to Rome. Well...here's the thing...the E75 looks like something that Snoopy would fly. I'm serious! Oh well....I'm UP for it. But I'm not gonna bother with the pictures.

11. TO SEE SARA!!!

12. The second most important reason? Mom asked me! Woohoo for Mom!!

13. And the most important reason? TO SEE SARA!!!!

Hey ya'll...I can't wait to see my baby girl! Woohoo!!

    I'm so jealous!! Have fun honey and take lots of beautiful wonderful pics that you can share with us when u get home (don't forget those hunky - eye talian as the southerners say - Italian men)

    oooooooh - I had lots of fun in Italy visiting my sister on her year abroad.

    I'd advise you to enjoy it but I see you don't need telling!!

    I'll look forward to hearing about it.

    p.s. Johnny Depp was singing on telly on a film review programme I think. Helena Bonham-Carter was in the clip too so it sounds like it might be another Tim Burton one but I didn't hear the details.
