Thursday Thirteen

Gifts, Heartfelt Intentions and Warm Thoughts

1. My daughter got me a dictionary…yes the desperately needed dictionary. My old one is in three pieces and I’m still deciding what to do with it. It’s been a part of me for over 20 years! Yeah Travis, I think I’ll keep it. Thanks for your thoughts!

2. My oldest son got me a Bowling Green State University hoodie. The cool thing about it was that it was still wet from the dryer! He grew out of it and passed it on to me! Gotta love the resourcefulness! I had wanted one for a long time!

3. My youngest son got me a paper cutter…yeah I flunked scissors in Kindergarten and this gift really excites me!

4. A vacuum cleaner! A much needed sweeper….I can’t keep one for longer then a year it seems! Does anyone else go through sweepers annually?

5. A beautiful and thought provoking Christmas Eve service, complete with candles and wonderful friends.

6. Having all three kids stay overnight at our place and waking them up Christmas morning.

7. The look on my husband’s face as I handed him his stocking.

8. Finally getting my very first down comforter.

9. The lights on the tree lasting until the day AFTER Christmas!

10. NO RETURNS!!

11. Looking forward to cleaning it all up and packing it away till next year.

12. Glancing over at the treadmill.

13. Knowing darn well I'm going to use it THIS time!!

Yup…another Christmas come and gone…..I hope you enjoyed reading my memories and that you found someone special under your mistletoe!

Hugs, Happiness and Harmony

Julie

Wonderful memories, Julie. It's the only thing that's important, isn't it? Building these amazing feelings of love with people. I'm with you on the treadmill, hon ... except mine's a rowing machine. Just gotta dust the cobwebs off. Lol

**still shuddering at all the horrid ideas for disposing of that dictionary**

I love that you shared the thoughts behind some of these gifts. It shows that the material can be well-matched to the spiritual.

Discovering the things that make us love each other is a special part of holiday gift giving.

Wonderful memories this year and every year I would imagine!

That is very sweet about your son's sweatshirt. I did that once for my dad and he wore it all the time.

Down comforters are wonderful, sigh. I think I am going to melt into mine right now!

    Hugs babe!
