Thursday Thirteen-My Faith

In God We Still Trust
By Diamond Rio

I'm not much of a country music person but when you couple God and love for our country, I think we have a winning combination.

In March, 2005, this song was performed by Diamond Rio at one of their concerts. They received an immediate standing ovation, and continue to do so every time they perform it! Sadly, major radio stations wouldn't play it because it was considered politically incorrect. Consequently, the song was never released to the public. If this song speaks to your heart, share it with friends and loved ones. Then let us cease being the silent majority and join together -- not as a particular political party, but as Americans!

My Thursday Thirteen list is why I trust God.

1. Psalm 9:10 Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.

2. Psalm 32:10 Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him.

3. Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song.

4. Psalm 37:4-6 Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

5. Psalm 56:11 In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

6. Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

7. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

8. Proverbs 16:20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.

9. Proverbs 28:25 A greedy man stirs up dissension, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper.

10. Daniel 6:23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

11. Nahum 1:7 The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.

12. Romans 10:11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame."

13. The Bible pretty much makes it clear that I should and that's good enough for me! He has promised that He won't forsake me, He will always love me, He will give me strength, He will help me achieve my goals, He will help me not be afraid, He will care for me, protect me and He will be proud of me. Who else can offer all that?

Thanks Betsy for reminding me of these wonderful truths!

Hugs, Happiness and Harmony,

Julie
