Julie Sees FLORENCE!!

Okay so here's the deal...I'm never going to get caught up with memes and posts and housework and work-work and that's just the way it's going to be. WAIT! Did I say work-work? Silly me! I LOVE my job! But I love so much about life and that is why I'm so busy! Anyway....I present to you, my faithful readers....Florence!

Well I just loaded 16 pictures for you! Oh my...this is going to take a looooong time! I tried really hard JUST to pick the good ones too!

Remember you can double click....if you want to..this picture was a very common view while traveling from Rome up to Florence. I was so eager to get to Florence to see Sara and the view along the way just added to the excitement of the 3 hour bus ride.

My BABY!!! With her European haircut and eating roasted chestnuts. I thought they were yucky but she said that they were the closest thing to potatoes then she's had in two months. Hmmmm methinks mommy's going to make mashed potatoes upon her return! And I'll be smiling while I do it!

Well, here you go.....my illegal photograph! Yup! Leave to me to be all excited and not follow the rules! I'm not sure who did this sculpture or what the name of is....I'm hoping to find out and add that information later. Anyone up for some research. The museum is in Florence and it's in the same place as The David sculpture by Michelangelo. At least I didn't try to take a picture of THAT masterpiece. Breath-taking to say the least.

This is the Basilica of Santa Croce and is known as the most beautiful Gothic church in Italy. Sara got to see this everyday she walked to school! Can you imagine that?

Oh no! I don't have the name of this church! Crap! SARA!! Help me! Isn't it gorgeous?

More beautiful detailing of a church. Sara....ummmm where are you when I need you?

This is the Piazza Del Duomo.
Sara use this as a guide to find her apartment because it could be seen so far away.

I thought this was a pretty little apartment.
People made their little areas so quaint and pretty.
Real Estate was amazingly expensive around Florence as well as most of Italy.

**jumps up and down all excited**
I KNOW THIS ONE! This is Neptune's Fountain!

Sunshine Sara and her view off one of her balconies!
Yeah...one of her balconies! I'd be grinning too!

This is one of the bridges over the river Arno.

My favorite bridge over the Arno. This is the Ponte Vecchio which means "old bridge". It is the oldest Florentine bridge and houses some wonderful shops. Mom and Sara and I bought matching bracelets to commemorate this experience. Sara walked this bridge everyday on her way to classes too!

Yeah, shopping on this bridge was just amazing. The shops were so tiny. Rarely could more then 6 people fit in a shop and that included the owner! The walkway was so busy and people would almost wait their turn to go into a shop.

This is a beautiful view just outside of Florence.
You would think we were in a plane but this picture was taken from our bus!

This is going into my favorite little town San Gimignano.
But that little trip will have to wait for another time!

I gotta get to work! YIKES!

Hugs, Happiness and Harmony!
Julie

Ah, Firenze ! It's a beautiful town although I have seen so many other towns in Italy. (My husband is Italian)
BTW I also like Hugh Laurie very much especially in Dr.House but I wouldn't call him a sexy man, lol ! (that's probably even an insult to him)

Oh-and i dont walk past Santa Croce everyday... but nice try-instead mention that all the happening bars are near Santa Croce and its dangerous at night--- thats way more interesting! ciao!

Dana! Well mom and I were wondering about that...and we think it's the lengthy meals that keep them healthy!
