My First Thursday Thirteen
Since this is my first Thursday Thirteen I felt that it’s high time to share some little known and perhaps some well known things about me.
1. I flunked scissors in kindergarten. I didn’t figure out WHY until a few years ago Well here’s the deal….I’m a lefty….but I use scissors with my right hand. I wonder if she tried to force me to write right handed too?
2. I’m just over 5 feet tall and have put up with comments since I was a teenager. I have a retort: My ankles reach my feet and the tops of my thighs reach the cheeks of my butt and after all that’s all God intended legs to do!
3. My parents thought that my sleep time was filled with nightmares since infancy. I was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 13 and the “nightmares” were grand mal seizures.
4. The private school that I attended grades 3-5 put me in a special reading program because I couldn’t read aloud. I was smart but I stuttered and no one realized it that was my problem.
5. Early 20’s I forced myself to do a telemarketing job to rid myself of the stuttering problem. I looked the script and all the L’s, M’s, N’s and W’s were terrifying. I got the job and had the highest stats!
6. My seizures and stuttering stopped within 2 years of going out on my own.
7. All of my jobs aside from a fast food job in college have been based on commission only. Most of those jobs I made more than my bosses and they lowered my percentages. One boss called me into his office and I shoved attitude his way by saying, “What… am I making more money than you or something? Fine, I’ll cut back to 3 hours in the field instead of 5.” I got fired within the week. So THAT’s why I work for myself now!
8. When I was 13 years old we moved from a cushy little house on a corner lot to a 100 acre farm in the middle of nowhere. The house was built in the late 1800’s and had to be completely remodeled. My parents thought that the move would “straighten” my brother out. It didn’t work.
9. I had several big dogs (as mentioned in a previous blog), tons of cats through the years, a goat, a pony and chickens while in my teenage years.
10. I have a perpetual twitch that messes with my right eye. It’s lasted over 6 months. Ya suppose it’s from sitting here too much?
11. While sitting here, I can study, work, play, visit, enjoy great music, watch super videos. Do ya think I’m really worried about aforementioned eye twitch? I would like to mount this computer to my treadmill though!
12. I watch maybe 4 hours of TV a week.
13. I thoroughly enjoy this thing called blogging!
Well, you’ve got my 13 for this Thursday.

Wonderful, Jules. Very interesting. BTW - get the twitch checked. That's how my neuralgia started.

Welcome to the wacky world of the Thursday 13!! This is a great list - there were a couple things on here I didn't know.
As for bosses who get jealous because you make more than they do - I suppose the idea never occurred to them that you were generating sales that ultimately paid their salaries too. Idiots, I say!! Screw em!!

Wow Julie! I found out things about you that were very interesting. Thanks for letting us know.
What I want to know is, how in the world did you make money with commission only jobs? I tried that one time and failed terribly... I'll never do it again..

Wow - that's a lot to learn about you in one sitting! Very interesting about the epilepsy - I had no idea you had it and to think your parents thought it was nightmares!
