Julie's Jewels and Junque

Welcome to my spot! A place filled with jewels and junk. Come on in and let me know what junk food you like, I'll be sure to have some here for you. Just leave me a note on what you take so I have plenty upon your return!. The jewels you ask? Well, hopefully you find my scattered thoughts as precious as gems.

My Daddy

And what would you want for this your 86th birthday? Some time with your daughter? That was all you wanted for as long as I can remember. "Just come visit me, Julie" is what you would always say. "I have everything I need."

....but then he would say,
"I hope I get a chocolate CAKE for my birthday."

How big of a piece would you like Daddy? Some ice cream, too?

I'm here Daddy. Can you help me understand some things? Can you give me your take on what's happening in this world? Have you been given all the answers? What's going to happen next? Have you been told? I've heard there are no tears in heaven. How can you not be crying with all that is happening around me and all the other people you love?

I miss you Daddy...I'll always remember how you took your hand and moved my hair from my right eye as it cascaded over it one day as we sat and talked in the living room. Silly little thing isn't it? Sometimes it still falls over my eye. When I brush it away I think of you. I think of you when I overindulge in chocolate. I think of you when I buy McDonald's food. I think of you when I see a collie.

I'm still a giggly little girl at times especially when I wear a cowgirl hat and boots. But sometimes I feel old, too. Help me not worry about aging. Help me understand how some people are naturally mean but many people are genuinely wonderful. Help me love.....completely.

Hugs, Happiness and Harmony,
Julie

Julie this was beautifully written and SO heartfelt. When he sends you answers to your questions... or just sends a sense of peace and comfort... could you share a bit with me? I wonder too.

    Blessings.

    Julie,
This made my heart cry and smile at the same time. I hope that makes sense.

    Pure poetry from your heart!

My dad did not want a relationship with me, and it left a stronghold in my heart, but GOD has set me free to love him without expectations.

This post makes me smile! I love to see that not all daddy's are heart breakers.

But, I have a HEAVENLY FATHER who loves me, and never leaves me. HE sees me through all my pain, and is with me in the times of joy.

GOD bless you and your family!

    In CHRIST's LOVE,
    Donna

    Julie,
Are you the awesome person that made my entrecard image? I think it is you, but I am not sure. If it is, I still have it and I still love it! I am still at http://mychristiandiary.blogspot.com.
I hope you will come and visit.

    GOD bless you!

    In CHRIST's LOVE,
    Donna

What a lovely tribute to your father, Julie. My father and I were never close, and by the time he passed away with Alzheimers, he didn't know who I was—so, I always appreciate hearing other people honor their fathers so sweetly.
