There is a sweet, sweet lady that I've never met yet I know her deepest thoughts about her mom. She lives thousands of miles away from me, but that never mattered. She shared so much more than I ever imagined could be shared without meeting her. I felt like she opened the door to her mom's last few days and I just stood there wondering what to do.

I met her nearly a year ago and I thought she was one of the funniest, most original people in my world. Whenever I saw her name in my list of messages I knew I would laugh.

The laughter continued for months. Then she shared about her mom being sick. She still cracked me up. I couldn't understand how she could find silliness at a time like this. Then I remembered all the laughter among the women in my family during whatever sadness was present.

Then she tugged her heart out and placed it on the table for all to see. It was to be her mom's final days. She stayed by her mom's side as like an unwavering flower in a storm. She told me all that was in her thoughts, her hopes and her dreams. She told of missing her baby girl Alice. She told of the love shared in the facility where her mom stayed. She shared of the fear that is so strong when you realize the shoes that you need to try on are going to be emptied very soon.

Ann....trust me dear. You'll have no problem at all being all you need to be to all who need you.
